Toqué frères

Biography

Félix and Marin Toqué are two brothers from Nantes who grew up in a family of artists. Félix began tagging as a teenager on the streets of his hometown before becoming a youth worker in the northern districts of Marseille, where he painted his first "Confiance" on a roundabout wall. Encouraged by the warm response from local residents, he brought his younger brother Marin — a graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Poitiers and the École de Condé in Paris — into what would become a shared creative venture.

Reunited in Paris, they developed a painterly universe inspired by maritime artists, bringing windows onto Breton seascapes, fishing harbours and uplifting messages to the grey walls of the city — "Good news, life is beautiful," "Beauty will save the world." Working in acrylic with no advance planning, they favour abandoned spots that they turn into luminous open-air canvases.

Their work, visible from Nantes to Paris by way of Saint-Nazaire and Rosny-sous-Bois, appeals to institutions — town halls, museums, hospitals — as much as to private collectors. The duo embodies a sunny, unifying approach to street art, rooted in optimism and the poetry of the Breton coast.
