Biography
Operating under the alias Tashe — a playful nod to "tache de peinture" (paint stain) — Charles is a graffiti writer rooted in Lorient, Brittany, whose lettering has marked the port city's walls since the early 2020s. As a member of the Diaspora Crew, a regional collective of around fifteen painters, he draws energy from a collaborative approach to urban art across the Breton landscape.
Alongside his letter-based work, the artist runs a parallel project called "les Oides": hundreds of small blue finger-shaped characters scattered across the Morbihan region and beyond. Unauthorised and self-initiated, these tiny figures turn forgotten urban corners into an ongoing, whimsical scavenger hunt.
Active between Lorient, Saint-Nazaire and Trignac, Tashe embodies the vitality of Brittany's street art scene beyond the usual metropolitan centres. His output — spanning pure graffiti and discreet figurative interventions — deliberately blurs the line between uninvited mark-making and fleeting public art.
