Biography

Aleksey Kislow is a Ukrainian urban artist born in 1983. Originally from Murmansk-60, a closed Soviet town, he grew up in Sevastopol, Crimea, where he discovered graffiti after finishing school. A graduate of the KCU im. Samokisha art school in Simferopol, he did not immediately pursue an artistic career before eventually devoting himself to mural painting.

His surrealist style is defined by dreamlike compositions in which fantastical creatures and hybrid figures interact with the architecture of buildings — windows, ledges and reliefs become integral parts of the work. In 2014, his collaboration with Seth Globepainter at the "French Spring" festival in Kyiv produced "Revival," a five-storey mural depicting a young girl's face as a symbol of a renewed Ukraine after the revolution. In Miami, he painted a monumental piece in Wynwood featuring fabulous creatures and a hybrid bird-man.

His work is featured on Google Arts & Culture and has been exhibited internationally. Just days before the Russian invasion in 2022, he posted one of his works on Instagram with the caption "Make love not war." Based in Sevastopol, he creates detailed murals that transform facades into imaginary landscapes, blending surrealism with a sensitivity to architectural context.
