Biography
FKV37 is an artistic entity that emerged around 2015, claiming anonymity as a founding principle — neither man, woman nor collective, but a concept with no identified social, sexual or racial origin. After working under several names in the Nantes graffiti scene, the project took shape under this alias and settled in Brittany. In 2018, FKV37 joined Villa Gregam in Morbihan, expanding from mural painting into linocut, drawing and stone carving.
The style is defined by a pursuit of simplicity and raw impact: bold, flat blocks of colour — red, yellow, black — with no drips or messy effects, recalling the graphic aesthetics of Soviet-era propaganda. A recurring character, a fat cat with slightly unhinged eyes, appears on walls in Vannes, Lorient and Redon. The artist has taken part in the DéDale festival in Vannes and exhibited "Toboggan" at the Antipode in Rennes as part of the Teenage Kicks urban art biennial.
