Biography
TakerOne is a self-taught street artist from Budapest, Hungary. He began painting in 2001 with classical graffiti and tagging before shifting entirely to legal work, independently mastering spray-paint techniques on large-scale surfaces. His style is rooted in photorealism, achieving a level of detail that turns walls into striking trompe-l'œil compositions, often punctuated by abstract splashes of colour.
Working freehand with aerosol, his murals range from four to three hundred square metres. In 2021, he was commissioned by George Mason University in Virginia to paint "Fauna of Belmont Bay" at the Potomac Science Center, depicting local wildlife. He has also taken part in festivals including Upfest in Bristol, the Bushwick Collective in Brooklyn, and events across Spain, Bulgaria and Australia.
Based in Budapest, the artist has painted in around fifteen countries spanning the United States, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Israel, Ukraine and the Netherlands. His stated goal is to create works of quality and monumentality that improve the built environment and bring colour to grey cityscapes.
