Biography

Kevin Ledo is a muralist and contemporary painter based in Montreal, raised by Azorean parents in a multicultural environment. He graduated from Dawson College with a degree in illustration and design in 1999 and began his professional art practice in 2005. His work merges portraiture and abstraction to explore personal and cultural narratives, across both canvas and monumental public walls.

Known for his large-scale portrait murals, the artist has taken part in festivals worldwide, including MURAL in Montreal, ÚS in Barcelona, FIAP in Cancún, BUMP in Calgary, The Raw Project in Miami and Denver, AptART in Jordan and Lebanon, and Street Prints in New Zealand. His career has taken him to live and work in Taiwan, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala and China.

In the studio, he pursues abstract research focused on gesture and colour through series such as "Generate," "De-construct" and "Soul Shape." His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, National Geographic, GQ Magazine and La Presse. He is listed by Art Public Montréal, MU and Urban Nation in Berlin.
