Pixel Pancho

Pixel Pancho

Biography

Born in Turin in 1984, Pixel Pancho was introduced to colour and form by his grandfather, an occasional painter. His passion for art took him to the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, then to the Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia, Spain, where he earned his degree. It was during his years in Valencia that he discovered graffiti and began working with spray cans and markers on urban surfaces, also exploring ceramic tiles, collage, and wheat-pasting.

His pictorial universe centres on a forgotten world populated by dented, rusting robots lying in the dust like discarded relics. These mechanical creatures, humanised through expressive postures and gestures, form a visual mythology that questions obsolescence and the human condition. His influences range from Joaquín Sorolla and Salvador Dalí to the collective El Equipo Crónica, as well as Ron English and Takashi Murakami.

His murals can be found across Europe, the United States, and Mexico. He has shown at the Wynwood Walls in Miami, the Urban Nation Museum in Berlin, and held a solo exhibition at Galleria Varsi in Rome with "Androidèi" in 2016. Moving between Turin and Valencia, the artist maintains a practice that spans large-scale urban art, canvas painting, and gallery installations.
