Biography
Born in 1979 in Antwerp, Larsen Bervoets is a Belgian multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans murals, sculpture, installations and furniture design. An experimenter by nature, he develops his projects from cardboard study models built in his studio, exploring the interplay between colour, space and perspective.
His public works are defined by tight geometric compositions — lines, planes, shadows and graphic elements — that create the illusion of three-dimensional depth on flat surfaces. The artist harnesses natural light and shadow to heighten this effect, merging abstraction with trompe-l'oeil in a sustained inquiry into the boundary between two and three dimensions.
Primarily active in Antwerp, he was selected by an international jury for the European Creative Rooftop Network, creating interventions on rooftops across six European cities. Notable commissions include twin HIV awareness murals in Antwerp's city centre and a large-scale piece for the University of Antwerp titled Fabrics & Memories, combining bold colour and layered textures.
