Biography

Born Virginie Masson in 1984 in Toulouse, the artist picked up spray cans in high school after joining the AH Crew in 2001. She initially focused on lettering before branching out into scenery and characters through collaborative jams and themed murals.

After studying applied arts in Nantes for three years, a role as art director brought her to Paris in 2007. There she developed a distinctive figurative style built around an elegant female character whose voluminous hair is woven from tags, throw-ups and dedications. Her murals draw on the surrounding environment — especially vegetation — to extend compositions beyond the wall. She also ventured into sculpture in 2016 and 2019 alongside artist Anti.

Vinie now takes part in international urban art festivals across Colombia, Portugal, French Polynesia and the Philippines. In 2021, two of her murals ranked among Street Art Cities' 100 finest street art works worldwide, and she completed a notable commission for UN Women in New York.
