Biography

Born in 1976 in Caen, the artist discovered graffiti in 1992 while leafing through a photocopied fanzine devoted to the Parisian scene. Captivated by this form of expression, he cut his teeth in vacant lots and on the streets for several years. The book "Spraycan Art" cemented his influences from the Parisian and New York scenes. From 1997 onward, he intensified his practice and committed to turning his passion into a way of life.

In 2000, he co-founded the Aero collective, which became a landmark graffiti structure in France by creating the first internet database dedicated to the movement. He joined the Bandits crew from Dresden in 2002. In 2010, he took up tattooing, extending onto skin the graphic work developed on walls. In 2011, he coordinated the "Mémoire ouvrière" project, inviting graffiti artists to paint houses slated for demolition in his childhood neighbourhood.

In September 2016, Sane2 opened Calvanostra Tattooshop & Gallery in Caen alongside his colleague Bog Daddy, a venue blending tattooing and alternative culture. Affiliated with BAD INC, IAC Bandits and Monkey Fellas crews, his work is documented on Maquis-Art, Artsper and Graffiti.org, and featured at the MUR de Rennes.
