Born in 1985 in northern France, Fabien Mazé began writing graffiti under the name Xkuz in 1998, drawn to hip-hop culture and the thrill of illicit painting. For a decade, roadside walls and railway embankments across his home region served as his primary canvas, where he honed a classic letter-based graffiti practice.

A pivotal shift came in 2008 during his graphic arts training, when aesthetic exploration overtook the pursuit of visibility. Abandoned industrial sites became both studio and inspiration as he moved away from traditional New York-style lettering toward abstraction. His visual language draws on cubism and constructivism, deconstructing the alphabet into refined, colorful compositions that hover between typography and pure graphic form.

A member of the Dislexik collective, the artist has expanded into studio work over recent years, producing screenprints, canvases, and engravings shown in solo and group exhibitions. He is a regular presence at international street art festivals including Meeting of Styles in Kosovo, Germany, and Denmark, as well as French events such as Shake Well in Bordeaux, Colorama in Biarritz, and 10e Art in Aurillac.
