Biography
Goin is a French street artist from the Lyon area who has maintained strict anonymity since the start of his career. He cut his first stencil in 1996 and began painting in the streets in 1999, developing a multi-layered stencil technique influenced by Blek le Rat and the punk movement. Beyond murals, he also works on found objects — skateboards, suitcases, oil drums, and metal signs — extending his practice into installation and sculpture.
A regular contributor to the Demeure du Chaos (Abode of Chaos), an outdoor contemporary art museum near Lyon, he built his signature around politically charged imagery targeting nuclear disasters, corporate greed, and institutional violence. In 2013, he responded to the Greek economic crisis with works in Athens including "Athena vs. Europa" and "Need Food – Not Football". Subsequent interventions in Lisbon (2014), Lyon (2016), Geneva, and Colombia were followed by a solo show titled "Anarchically Yours" at Spacejunk Gallery in Bayonne in 2018.
Listed in the French national art collection (CNAP) and represented by the Pulpo Gallery, the artist has shown his work across Europe and beyond, including a participation in the 2024 Upfest festival in Bristol. He describes his practice as "a subversive bomb, an initiation to critical thinking and an approach to a new type of abrasive, denunciatory art" — a commitment to the street as a space of political resistance.
