Biography

Born in Brisbane in 1979, Anthony Lister is one of the pioneers of Australian street art. After graduating from the Queensland College of Art in 2001, he moved to New York where he was mentored by New Zealand painter Max Gimblett. His work blends expressionism, pop art and pop culture references, executed in charcoal, acrylic, oil and spray paint. A leading figure of the Lowbrow movement, he has painted murals across Sydney, Melbourne, London, New York and Grenoble (Street Art Fest 2016, with the "Mime" and "Acrobatic Clowns" pieces), and collaborated with brands such as Hermès, Mercedes-Benz and Vogue Australia, as well as with artists Blek le Rat and Invader.
