Biography
Originally from Cognac, David Selor discovered graffiti at the age of ten when a graffiti writer visited his primary school. Self-taught, he went through an intense period of artistic exploration — roughly a hundred canvases in the spirit of Basquiat, experiments with prehistoric painting techniques inspired by the Lascaux caves — before traveling for over five years and returning to France with a visual language of his own.
In 2013, during a voluntary service placement in Portugal at a center for people with autism, he created Mimil, a half-wild, half-human character whose gentle and peaceful appearance draws from the autism spectrum. Approached not as a clinical subject but as a sensitive richness — another way of perceiving the world and emotions — Mimil acts as a mediator between the artist and the public, addressing memory, identity, and human fragility with delicacy.
Based in Bordeaux, he has been spreading Mimil across the city's walls and beyond for over twelve years, building a body of murals, canvases, and urban interventions. His work has been exhibited in galleries and covered by national press, establishing a poetic practice that turns street art into a vehicle for empathy and social connection.
