Biography

Originally from the Landes region, Syrk is a self-taught graffiti artist and illustrator based in Poitiers. He began painting in 2003 in Bordeaux without knowing any graffiti writers, and turned his art into a full-time profession by 2005. His pseudonym blends his first and last names, though the artist deliberately cultivates anonymity around his identity.

His universe draws on children's literature and illustration, which he subverts with humor in a naive and colorful style. Benevolent animals hold a central place in his graphic bestiary, often rendered in vivid hues with a particular fondness for blue. His practice spans wall painting, canvas, ink illustration, screenprinting, and stickers.

His work earned him a solo exhibition at the Musée Sainte-Croix in Poitiers in 2020, drawing five hundred visitors at the opening during European Heritage Days. He works internationally — Ireland, England, Glasgow, Mauritius — as well as in Bordeaux, Toulon, Strasbourg, and Limoges, leaving traces of his distinctive style wherever he travels.
