Biography
Born in 1987 in Pouso Alegre, Brazil, Tamires Hopfgartner — known as Tami Hopf — studied visual communication at Cásper Líbero University in São Paulo before working as an art director for design agencies in Brazil, Chile, Australia, and Argentina. In 2013, she moved to Switzerland and established her studio in Vevey, devoting herself fully to her personal practice from 2015.
Her work spans mural art, illustration, and tattooing, exploring human behavior and its paradoxical relationship with the natural environment. Her pointillist technique — thousands of meticulously applied dots — brings texture and depth to compositions often pared down to a palette of black, white, and gold, sometimes enriched with darker tones. Her subjects hover between reverie and melancholy, carried by detailed, meticulous linework.
Based in Vevey, she paints walls across Switzerland and Europe, transforming urban and residential spaces into large-scale murals. She designed the poster for the Festival au bord de l'eau in Sierre in 2025 and regularly participates in urban art events such as the Vision Art Festival.
