Biography

Born in 1974 in São Paulo, identical twin brothers Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo form the duo OSGEMEOS — Portuguese for "the twins." Raised in the traditional Cambuci district, they grew up immersed in hip-hop, breakdancing, and DJing, and began painting on the streets in 1987. A pivotal encounter in 1993 with American graffiti artist Barry McGee, visiting Brazil on a study program, helped shape their artistic development.

Their visual universe blends Brazilian folklore, contemporary urban culture, dreams, and music into a dreamy, illustrative style instantly recognizable for its yellow-skinned characters and geometric patterns. The duo played a defining role in shaping the Brazilian street art scene, becoming one of its most influential forces. Their practice extends beyond murals to encompass painting, sculpture, site-specific installation, and video.

Represented by Lehmann Maupin gallery, they exhibit worldwide — New York, London, Mumbai — and were the subject of a major show at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington in 2024. Their monumental murals, spanning facades across dozens of cities, transform public space into colorful fantasies where popular tradition meets personal imagination.
