Biography
Originally from Angoulême, Benjamin Le Houëzec — known as Möka — grew up in a family of seven children where his mother encouraged artistic pursuits. Self-taught, he was immersed from childhood in the world of comics through the Angoulême International Comics Festival, absorbing influences from Spirou, Astérix, and Lanfeust de Troy. He discovered graffiti around the age of twenty, drawn to the speed and monumental scale of the medium.
Based in Bordeaux for over fifteen years, the artist moves between graffiti and illustration, working on walls, canvases, and recycled materials. His signature technique involves customizing discarded spray cans with Posca markers, preserving the rust and metal textures as raw material. The animated series Les Lascars feeds the aesthetic of his characters, blending urban humor with popular culture references.
A member of the Le Grand Cru collective alongside Màs and Blade, and of the VEC crew, he has developed a diverse practice spanning murals, interior design, food truck graphics, and illustration. His colorful interventions punctuate the Bordeaux urban landscape, driven by a playful spirit inherited from the world of comics.
