This large frieze by Lasco in Clermont-Ferrand reconstructs a panel of cave paintings with several prehistoric animals: a reindeer with a cast shadow, galloping spotted horses, two mammoths facing each other and a woolly rhinoceros. The ochres, blacks and browns evoke the ancestral pigments of decorated caves. The work creates a striking link between prehistory and contemporary urban art.
