Where to find street art in Laval (France)

Laval's street art scene developed from the 2010s onward, backed by the Fondation Mécènes Mayenne — a group of local business leaders — which invested several tens of thousands of euros in 2018 to establish the city as a reference point for urban art in western France. The association Good Good Moods helped structure the scene by securing dedicated wall spaces for artists.

Works are distributed across several areas: the foot of the castle and its public garden, the former racecourse, and the Pommeraies district all host mural interventions. The Ferrié neighbourhood, undergoing urban renewal, was the site of a project in March 2024 that brought around fifty artists into the Légumerie 53 building before its demolition. Boston Square and a railway underpass complete the network.

Artist Harry James has produced several pieces in Ferrié, including one beneath a railway bridge. With around eighteen documented works, the city is gradually building an identity around urban art, driven by an active network of associations and stable private funding.
