Alex Martinez, also known by his tag SHINE, is an international artist hailing from the United States, specializing in graffiti art. He has worked as an illustrator and muralist in Greece and the United Kingdom. It's worth noting that his uncle is the renowned Mexican actor and dancer, Adalberto Martinez.
Martinez is best recognized for his work in the UK, particularly in and around London's Notting Hill, where he maintains a studio. He was commissioned by Madame Tussauds for the Tupac Shakur exhibition, where he showcased both Wildstyle and his signature spray can techniques. In 2008, he participated in the Meeting of Styles graffiti event. Martinez has created community murals in the W11 area.
He curated the first two mobile graffiti exhibitions, featuring works on canvas and found ply-board, for the Portobello Film Festival. His mural of Samuel Beckett, located on Blenheim Crescent in London, has been used for book jackets and postcards.
