Where to find street art in Fleury-les-Aubrais (France)
In April 2013, for the tenth edition of the Cheminance festival, Fleury-les-Aubrais commissioned ten permanent murals from street artists across the world, under the artistic direction of Seth (Julien Malland). The project built on a first intervention by Seth in 2011 and went on to win the top prize for "Artistic Project" at the 100% Talents des territoires competition the same year.
The trail spans the entire commune: Rue du Onze-Novembre concentrates several pieces on the walls of the Collège André-Chène and the Piscine des Jacobins. The Gare des Aubrais tunnel hosts a mural by Dem189, the water tower on Rue de Curembourg a piece by Kislow and Waone, and the La Passerelle cultural centre on Boulevard de Lamballe a work by Mono González.
The artists brought in include Natalia Rak, Saner, Russ and Cekis from across Europe and Latin America. Additions in 2017 and 2022 — by Oji and then the Orléans-based collective Whole Street — have brought the trail to fourteen permanent works, turning Fleury-les-Aubrais into an open-air museum woven into the everyday life of the commune.
