Where to find street art in Rezé (France)

Street art took root in this Nantes suburb in the late 2000s when the local association Arpej opened the pillars of the Sèvre bridge to graffiti writers in 2008, establishing one of the first legal painting spots south of the Loire. The move attracted a growing community of artists and connected the city to the wider metropolitan scene shaped by the "Plan Graff" initiative and a network of 27 designated free walls across the Nantes conurbation.

The banks of the Sèvre Nantaise river, reachable only on foot or by bike, form the creative heart of the area, with layers of murals covering the arches of the Bourdonnières bridge. In the Château district, building gables display large-scale pieces, including a monumental mural at 2 allée Théophile Gautier produced during the 2017 participatory project "Parade, Balade et Distorsion." Smaller interventions appear on school walls and underpasses scattered throughout the commune.

Korsé, a graffiti artist who grew up here and works from the Mékano studio, represents the local scene with a surrealist style blending poetry and social commentary; he won the 2021 Graffiti Prize. The duo Ador and Semor left their mark through monumental frescoes featuring an urban bestiary. Artists such as Jinks Kunst, Petite Poissone, Eskat, and Oré continue to add new layers, and the city maintains an interactive map so visitors can track every piece.
